Heroes Allow Things To Die & Be Reborn
Happy Humpday Hero!
What twists and turns did life bring your way this week and more importantly, how did you notice yourself responding to each?
I've been leaning into the trusting side of life more and more, letting go of things when they need to be let go of and allowing them to die.
How does it make you feel when I mention the word ‘die’?
Uncomfortable? Uncertain? Scared? Powerless?
It's a funny experience when thinking about things dying because it's something we are so scared of but know nothing about. Its something we are all slowly walking towards to what we perceive to be the end of our life and it says ‘your times up, lets see how you did’ or any other words it's the very infamous ‘Day of Judgment’
At least this seems to be what we have all come to think and believe about it and certainly what we have been told.
The Reckoning
The Finale,
The End…
But that's not the whole story
There's another side that this Hero would like to present to you. A side that when spoken about seems to be more logical, practical and helpful. A side that isn't so scary in fact it is empowering. Spoken from real lived experience just after I wrote the last blog when my computer actually died on me… unrecoverable. The Hard Drive had cooked itself. Symbolic of a time to let go of something old and welcome in the new.
I never knew how much holding onto an old slow computer was really weighing me down and burning up my confidence like a smoldering pile of ruins breaking down my ability to stay committed to and focused on my cause.
I love fire. There is something so cleansing about it and it captivates my imagination as I stare blankly into the licks of flames that dance with the burning embers against the night sky. Without care and understanding of this power it can burn down a whole forest in the blink of an eye leaving death and destruction in its path. But with this destruction comes a new form of life that rises through the ashes like a phoenix.
‘The fire of Self Discovery does not burn you, It Cleanses you of all that you are not leaving only that which you are’
While fires symbolize death, it also symbolizes life. And this is my point. Life actually follows a life/death/rebirth cycle over and over again, be it when a computer dies or you lose a cherished item or when your life partner and best friend dies. You don't know what vistas you may find just on the other side of that hump. When you understand that death is a natural part of a life’s process that actually GIVES BIRTH to something new and more to your liking then you can start to lean into life’s rhythms more, remaining in the Heroic Flow and receive what's always been trying to find you.
Obviously comparing a computer to a Divine, Heroic Being such as yourself or someone you love immensely is a little embellished however the point still stands that this cycle plays out in our daily lives and if we are aware of it then we can ride the waves of life with more ease and flow and patiently walk towards becoming the Hero you so desperately seek in the world leaving a legacy of Life and Liberation.
With that I shall leave you to ponder on what you might be able to lovingly let die in your life? What no longer serves you but you fear not having around and most importantly what would you like instead?
Peace be to you and happy climbing Hero
